-=44:3:30 War room on the Windstorm=-

Sitting in this modest room that would have one been described as a large dining room, Some of the most important people in the PBF are sitting around this table with Maps and datapads everywhere. General Joshua Hawkins, leader of the PBF is standing at the end of the table and leaning over to get a better look at a map with ship placements. While FA Michal "MacMan" McEwen is looking over a datapad and plotting the next moves. Other people at this table are Brigadier General Max Cal, PBF's SO, and the holographic image of Brigadier General David Vaughan, Republic Shield's Logistics officer. The four of them are working out details of the strengths and weaknesses of the enemy fleet. Finally Josh smiles and looks up, "Did you get the information from the computer core of the Corvette we, erm, aquired?"

David looks up from his own datapad, scarcely aware he was still in communication with the PBF forces, nods absently and finally looks up, "Hmm? ooh yes, we have the information you sent, and are looking over it now. Chances are the codes have all been changed by now, but we're using what we found to decode older messages. Hopefully something will make sense. What are your plans for the Corvette?"

"Well if it's ok, we'd like to keep her for a while here, but I figure we can always ship her to the GDF if it's really needed. Though I would like to keep her here for a bit to go through and get her core completely unloaded to you guys. Plus I want the right to rename her."

"Well shipping her off to the GDF would be a great help, we're down to four ships, and one of them is Clone Wars era. I'm sure the Fleet Commander will thank you."

"Well we're going to go on a rampage soon, and I figure a smaller ship like a vette is great to have against fighters, she'll just be in the way for the larger battles we're going to be in. I've plotted out all the strategic locations thanks to your help." Josh looks down to see a flashing light on the panel in front of him he sighs and presses the button next to it to answer the call. "Yes?"

"Sir, incoming message from the Fleet Commander." the voice from the other end says.

"I thought he was with you, David? No matter, put him through." With that, the image of Fleet Commander Dave Trebonious-Astoris appears on the table projector next to Vaughan. Josh salutes, "Yes Sir, what I can do for you? We're planning our reprisal attack now. "

"Excellent news, Once you clear out the cluster, I can use your help here at Greeop."

"That's fine, as soon as these bastards are gone from the cluster I'll take the PBF home so we can join up with the SSF and really kick some tail in."

"Before your reprisal operations proceed, I have a mission for you. The New Republic has decided to send us some supplies and aide. Unfortunately that means the most direct route to Greeop is through the Minos Cluster. I need you to make sure this convoy arrives to us safely."

Josh just stares at the Fleet Commander for a moment before looking down at his maps and information torn between revenge and the practicality of protecting this convoy. "I understand Sir, the convoy will be protected with the best of our abilities."

"I know you will do the best job you possibly can, I thank you Josh." the Fleet Commander salutes and the image vanishes leaving Josh and the others to their thoughts. "You didn't tell Dave about the corvette?" Max asks.

"Nothing to report yet. We're still getting crews in there to decode the systems and get the information to Logistics. I figure if we can work it, we'll get a skeleton crew on there and have it escort the convoy back home." Josh looks up from his notes, "David, do me a favor, keep this under your hat, let Dave be surprised, please."

"Understood Josh, I have projects to get back to, you need me anymore?"

"No, thank you David." Josh salutes and the image of a saluting logistics officer fades out to leave just the three leaders of the PBF in a room with their thoughts of revenge and reprisals. Their thoughts interrupted by a beeping datapad containing the information about the convoy. "Well, it looks like our new mission details have come to us. Lets get this over with."

-=44:3:35 Main bridge of the Windstorm =-

A communication officer nods and presses a button on a panel, "Sir the convoy is approaching, they have dropped out of hyperspace to make the next jump to Greeop. They convoy leader says the hyperdrive on one of the vessels is acting up, so they'll be traveling at sublight speed for a while until the crews can get it working. They estimate at most 20 minutes."

"Understood, launch the fighters for escort duty. Let them know we'll be here if they need us. For now let's just stay out of their flight path and position us to cover their retreat." Josh leans over a computer panel of his own to watch what's going on.

"Sir enemy fleet entering area! " the sensor officer calls out.

"Here they are folks, Get the Angelfire in there to distract them and launch the support fighters. Get me the fighters please." Josh waits for the communications officer to nod and look back at Josh to tell him he's through, "Xwings, protect that convoy and engage any fighters that slip through the Angelfire's defense. Angelfire, hold them off for as long as you can, we'll send support to help you. Josh Out." Josh nods to the communications officer and watches the coming battle from the viewport. Hoping this will not end badly.

:)

Greetings Pilots!

Not much to go over this time around. Merits have already been updated. Medals will be awarded soon. There are some changes to take note of though, so please read this section, even if you skip the narrative.

1. ALL reports, Xwing and TIE, will be sent to PBFReports@Yahoogroups.com. The old email will still be active in case people forget, but from now on, please use only the one email addy. It's a lot easier for you guys to remember that one since most of you have used it for so long.

2. I've gotten a surprising amount of feedback concerning the TIE platform. Though I am not making any decisions as of yet, we will continue to support it as much as we can. Though, I still want to hear from the rest of you and any ideas you have on how we can improve performance in that area.

3. We have captured a new corvette, but sadly we can't add her to our ranks. She's going to help with the Greeop Defense Force. However, we get to name her. If you look on the forums there is a poll there already started. Feel free to add your own name in below. If others like it I will add it to the poll.

Now for the good stuff. Your Top Guns are: Damon Lightwind, for Xwing, and Gavin Phalon for TIE Fighter. Congrats you two!

Mission Report Medals: James Folen wins for TIE fighter, as he was the only one who wrote anything. And Xwing goes to Ste T. Though Honorable mention must goto Damon Lightwind and Dacs Helfrump for their submissions.

Turnout was a little shakey this time around, however Red gets the Medal of Activity for having 100% reporting. Congrats red.

I appologize for the brief narrative this time around, I misjudged my time badly this time around and didn't have a chance to work on it as much as I wanted to. Still it covers the basics and gets you through the mission.

Mission is due April 15th, 2007 midnight EST (GMT-5).

Pilots! To you ships!

================================
The current Patriot Battle Fleet mission is:

PBF 7.08

The deadline for the current mission is:

Sunday April 15th 11:59 pm EDT

You can download the current mission at:

http://pbf.rebelsquadrons.org/missions/

Send reports with pilot files attached to:

pbfreports@yahoogroups.com

Plus your own squadron CO and/or squadron egroup.

The rules for flying the mission are:

1) You may run this mission as many times as you like but you MUST get the MISSION COMPLETE message and have a valid *.plt /*.tfr file in order to be eligible for the PBF/R2F Medal of victory. In addition, any score not accompanied by a pilot file for verification will NOT be counted by the PBF Command Staff.

2) Run the mission as "defect.xwi" ( this will place it as X-Wing X-Wing TOD 1 Mission 1 ) so that your stats will be recorded in your *.plt file. Note: TIE missions have their own Battle file, so you will also be flying tour 1 mission 1.

3) Make a new pilot file to run the mission. If you fail the mission and wish to run it again make sure to use a new pilot file instead of re-running it with the same pilot. Any pilot file found to be "unclean" will result in the score NOT being counted by the PBF Command Staff.

4) Destroying "Friendly" craft to pad ones stats is strictly prohibited. Pilot files containing "Rebel" or "Friendly" craft kills will be considered invalid.

5) You should also include a written report with your score laser/ion shots and hits, missile shots and hits and kill totals in the email. Laser padding in TIE missions is strictly forbidden and will result in a 0 score.

6) Pilot files will be manually calculated using the Official PBF Standard scoring chart for X-wing. Anyone interested in obtaining a copy of this chart, can email me to do so.

7) No individual scores will be changed after the deadline! If a report is submitted that is never received at the report address given above, it will not be added after the deadline. Neither will the PBF CO accept a late pilot file. The only thing that can be changed afterwards are errors made by the Command Staff.

8) Mail problems including undelivered mail and corrupted pilot files are not the responsibility of the PBF command staff. If your pilot file becomes corrupted and you do not include a written accounting, then your score will be counted as "0".

9) If a pilot retires from the PBF at any time during the course of an active mission after having submitted a report, his report will no longer count for his former squadron.

10) If a pilot transfers from one PBF squadron to another (such as attaining a squadron CO position) during the course of an active mission after having submitted a report, his report will now count towards the newfound squadron.

You may ask, "What is required for the reporting.

1) A valid mission file and physical report (same as normal)

2) We know some people can't report in some instances. This will not beheld against squads. If it comes to pass that you could not report for any reason, such as computer issues, you were gone...A properly written narrative will suffice for the flying report. This does not cover, "Oh, I forgot to fly" Or, "I didn't want to fly." These narratives are for the use of people who cannot fly the mission, and need another method of counting a report.

Guidelines for narratives:
The narrative needs to be more then "I got in my ship, launched, flew around, shot this and this up, went home and drank beers." A quality written narrative (Under the discretion of PBF command staff looking at reports) needs to consist of some bulk. It can be, however, a report of anything. Since by using this method of reporting, you weren't able to fly for whatever reason, the narrative DOES NOT have to be about the mission directly. You could write substantial narrative about since your hip was damaged, you stuck back to make repairs to join the second wave. Or, since you couldn't fly, you volunteered to join the rescue shuttle to help an EVA pilot. What you write about is up to you. However, we have command people watching these reports, and they need to be involved, decent reports, or they will not be counted to the squad total.

Also note: If a squad is at say 10 pilots....the 75% rule would apply to 7 pilots minimum...the 12 pilots per squadron will have no effect. The 75% and 100% requirements will be based off of the current squad roster...for those that were curious about that.
